Work.
Today I scanned 154 patient requisitions. Each “req” usually consists of a front and back page of whatever radiological test the patient is having, a script, a hospital registration sheet(double sided) and consent form. If the patient is having a CT or MRI then there is usually bloodwork, a history sheet (double sided), and a contrast consent form(double sided). So, given that information, each req is roughly 6 pages. That means that today I scanned 954 pieces of paper, at the very least.
The only thing keeping me from smashing my head in with the scanner is knowing that patients will benefit from my work; people will receive better, faster care/results and their medical records are organized and up to date.
At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
